However, the video was not shared from Mahesh Hayat's own account but was released from a Twitter account called Bilal Pinnu, who identifies himself as an officer of the National Accountability Bureau.
How did this video end up? In this regard, the NAB told Urdu News that "they have contacted five or six celebrities, including Mahesh Hayat, and asked them to create awareness among the people against corruption." Leading Pakistani journalist Syed Talat Hussain also shared the video, retweeting which user Ahmed Waleed wrote that "Mahesh Hayat is also a NAB step against corruption."
