Lieutenant General Inam Haider Malik of the Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) stated that National Cyclone Biparjoy could make landfall tomorrow morning, June 15.
Sherry Rehman, the federal minister in charge of climate change, and Lieutenant General Inam Haider Malik, the head of the NDMA, spoke during a press conference regarding Cyclone Biparjoy.
A 14-member group led by Sherry Rehman has been formed by PM Shehbaz Sharif, according to the climate change minister, to keep an eye on Cyclone Biparjoy.
She stated that because the strength of the cyclone won't be known until tomorrow, officials are attempting to evacuate residents of coastal districts.
Sherry Rehman said that although the cyclone has begun to move away from Karachi, Thatta, Badin, Sajawal, and Tharparkar may still be the hardest hit.
Because the hurricane will hit the Keeti Bandar tomorrow at 11 am, she pleaded with the populace to assist the authorities.
The strongest sustained surface winds are 150 Km/hour, and the NDMA chairman added that 70,000 people have been relocated to 75,000 camps. He further stated that Karachi may experience urban flooding.
A 14-person emergency committee was established earlier today by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to address the potential effects of Cyclone Biparjoy, which is anticipated to make landfall on the coast of Sindh tomorrow.
According to a statement released by the PM office, the committee would operate on an emergency basis to ensure that people are safe during the cyclone.
I should point you that Cyclone Biparjoy,
which has now diminished and become a Very Severe,
Cyclonic Storm, will hit between Sindh and India's Gujarat coast on Thursday at noon or evening.
